Raymond L. Madden's Obituary
Raymond Lamar “Mot” Madden, 58, of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, January 19, 2026, in a local healthcare facility. He was born July 23, 1967, in Chattanooga, Tennessee to Raymond and Blondiva Madden. Raymond was educated in the Chattanooga Public Schools and attended Howard High School. He was formerly employed by the Lookout Mountain Fairyland Club in the Maintenance Department. Raymond attended New Harvest Community Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Terri Lynn Green; parents, Blondiva and Raymond Madden; grandparents, Evelyn and Nathaniel Jackson; grandfather, Will E. Byrd, Sr.; brother, Twain Jackson, Sr.; uncle, Richmond Byrd; aunt, Sharon Ginn; cousins, Larry Jackson, Jr. and Ollie Peters, III.
Survivors include his daughters, Shana Smith and LaNesha Cox; 8 grandchildren; brothers, Richmond Madden, Marvin Madden, and Lention Whitlock; uncles, Will E. Byrd, Jr. and Curtis (Jackie) Byrd; aunts, Kathy (Richard) Smith, Kasandra (Larry, Jr.) Acklin, Alicea (Arthur) Watley, Anita Byrd, Nadine (Dennis) Fortson, all of Chattanooga, and Cecilia (Ollie) Peters of Arkansas; devoted nieces, Kenisha Madden Sills and Denisha Madden; a host of other nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.
Funeral service for Raymond has been rescheduled, due to weather conditions, to Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel with Minister Marvin Parks as the Eulogist. Burial on Monday, February 2, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in Highland Memorial Gardens.
