Percy Applebet, Jr.'s Obituary
Percy Applebet, Jr., 69, formerly of Chattanooga, passed away Sunday, July 1, 2024, in a hospital in Shelbyville, Tennessee. Percy was born March 24, 1955 to Percy Applebet, Sr. and Delores Applebet. He attended Brainerd High School. Percy’s church home was Pilgrim Baptist Church. He worked for the Chattanooga Housing Authority for many years. Percy was an easy- going person and would give you the shirt off his back and his shoes if you needed them. He was just an all-around nice guy and will be missed. Percy was preceded in death by his niece, Miracle McDowell. He leaves to cherish his memories to his daughter, Umena Cooper; sister, Sharon Pomeroy of Nashville, TN; brothers, Erick (Jean) Applebet and Micheal Applebet (Lisa), both of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Asia McDonald, Emanuel Lyle, and Ladarian Cooper; nieces, Erica Gillis, Tonya Young, and Tashunya Young; nephews, Charles Young, Lajeromeny Brown, Patrick Brown, and Ansley; a host of cousins; other relatives and many dear friends. Percy will lie-in-state on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 12 noon in the chapel with Pastor Alfred Johnson, Sr. as the eulogist. Burial in Highland Memorial Gardens.
