Peggy Jean Derrick's Obituary
Peggy Jean Derrick, 73, of Chattanooga, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2025, at her residence. She was a 1969 graduate of Riverside High School. Peggy was a member of Greater Friendship Primitive Baptist Church. She retired from Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Tennessee after many years of service. She also worked with Minnie’s Florist for several years. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Elige Milton Dean and Mollie Mae Dean; her brother, Milton Dean; and her in-laws, Andrew and Helen Derrick. Survivors include her stepson, Alphorian Derrick; brothers, Ed Lee Dean and Melvin Bernard (Chavela M. Dean), both of Chattanooga; her nephews, Tyrone (Tamika) Parks, Tommy (Tammy) L. Dean, and Jonathan B. Dean; niece, Chavela N. Dean; a host of cousins; friends; neighbors and acquaintances. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 noon in the chapel. Burial in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
