Pearlie Mae Smith's Obituary
Pearlie Mae Smith, 88, of Chattanooga, passed away Thursday, July 1, 2021, in a healthcare facility. She retired from Memorial Hospital after many years of service. Pearlie Mae was a member of Prospect Missionary Baptist Church, but had been attending Silver Baptist Church for many years. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Oliver and Annie Edwards; father, Willis (Savannah) Hundley; mother, Mattie (Reverend Thornton, Sr.) Holden; sister, Susie Peters; brother, Carl Holden, Sr.; brothers-in-law, James Peters and Bobby McQuiddy. Survivors include her sons, George (Brenda) Martin and Larry (Faustina) Smith, both of Chattanooga; 13 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Thornton (Vickie) Holden, Jr. of Atlanta, GA, Thomas (Velvet) Holden of Harvest, AL, and James Holden of Madison, AL; sisters, Marie (Bobby) McQuiddy and Bobbie Ann Moore, both of Nashville, TN; sister-in-law, Hattie (Carl) Holden of Madison, AL; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Pastor Tony Walliser will serve as the eulogist.
