Paulette Ervin's Obituary
Mrs. Paulette Marsh Ervin peacefully transitioned from labor to reward on Tuesday October 14, 2025. She was born on October 29, 1946, to her late parents, Katie Mae Walker and Benjamin Howard Marsh in Gadsden Alabama. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Ervin; her sisters, Earline Townsend and Annie Mae Townsend; brother, Michael Marsh.
Paulette was a proud graduate of Carver High School. She began her early career at Goodyear and the Rubber Company in Gadsden, Alabama, and later went to work at Shaw Industries in Chickamauga, where she faithfully served for 25 years until her retirement.
Paulette was a cherished and faithful member of Community Baptist Church, where her faith shone brightly through her many roles. Paulette sang in the choir, participated in the Senior Saints Group, the Ladies of CBC, and the SONShine Sister Sunday School Class, where she also served faithfully as Class Treasurer. Her servant’s heart led her to contribute to the Decorating and Fellowship Hall Committee, as well as the Outreach and Mission Teams. Always on the move, Paulette joyfully embodied the hands and feet of Jesus in all she did.
Paulette was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary 3679, Widow Harvest. She took joy in cooking, shopping, working in her yard with her flowers, spending time with family and friends and devoting her time to helping those in her community.
Loving and unforgettable memories will remain in the hearts and minds of her beloved son, Marvin (Patti) Marsh; granddaughter, Adrienne (Ava Travis) Marsh; grandson, Roger (Julie) Walston; three great-grandchildren, Dianne Bennett, Chole Walston, and Tristian Walston; brothers, James (Ocie) Townsend and Terry (Eula) Townsend; sisters-in-law, Deborah Ervin, Gracelia Moore, Virginia Daniels, and Carolyn Daniels; brother-in-law, Thomas Ervin; goddaughter, LaToya Porter; special friends, Faye Ramsey, Cynthia Smith, Maggie Laster, Rosemary Jones, and Mike Hill; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends, and her church family.
Paulette will lie-in-state on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 noon in the Chapel with Pastor Mike Angel as the Eulogist.
Burial in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
