Paula Lorraine Benford's Obituary
Paula Benford, of Chattanooga, passed away Friday, March 29, 2024, at her residence. She was born in Chattanooga, TN to Walter and Marian Benford. She attended Howard High before earning her Bachelor’s degree in Spanish from UTC. She was a member of Delta Sigma Theta, as well as an attending member at Avondale Church of Christ. Paula was preceded in death by her mother, Marian Benford, and father, Walter Benford, Sr.; brother, Michael Benford; grandmother, Mary Sherrill; grandfather, Robert Sherrill; grandmother, Emma Jackson; grandfather, Robert Benford; uncle, James Benford; and aunt, Tommie McKinney. She is survived by her sister, Sylvia (Brady) Daniels, of Columbia, MO; brother, Walter (Calamity) Benford, of Dayton, OH; sisters, Vickey Brown and Robbi Benford; brothers, Jerry (Anette) Benford and Ivan Sherrill, all of Chattanooga; nieces, Cherese Demmons, Alyson Daniels, Tamera Daniels, Candance Benford, Sharmaine Benford; nephews, Eric Benford, Marrell Benford, Marcus Benford, and David Armor; a loving friend of 30 years, Rumanda (Todd) Clemons; a host of great and great-great-nieces and nephews. Paula will lie-in-state on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, from 12:30-5:00 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at 12 noon in the chapel with Brother John R. Taylor, Sr. as the eulogist. Burial in Forest Hills Cemetery.
