Patricia Ann Watters-Thompson's Obituary
Patricia Ann Watters-Thompson, 75, of Chattanooga, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2024, at her residence. She was born February 24, 1949, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was a graduate of Riverside High School, Class of 1967. “Pat” worked at Erlanger Health System over 30 years, starting out as a CNA, became a Unit Clerk in the Burn Unit, and later retired. She was a faithful member of Greater Pilgrim Baptist Church, where she sang with the Greater Pilgrim Baptist Church Choir. Pat was a member of the Chattanooga Mass Choir and Sounds of Unity. Under the Leadership of John Jackson, Pat recorded with the Unity Praise Ensemble her song, ‘I Came To Lift Him Up’. It was featured on the radio station in 2004-2006. She was a dedicated participant of the Greater Tucker Baptist Fall Festival Choir. Pat was also a member of the Willing Workers at her home church. She was a member of the Avondale Seniors of Avondale Recreation Center. She volunteered at the Chattanooga Food Bank and was also a Foster Grandparent for Signal Center of Chattanooga. Pat was known for her Anointed voice, wearing a flower in her hair, and spreading the Goodness of God everywhere she went. She was loved by so many and the best part about her was that she returned the love 10 fold and will be greatly missed by so many. Pat was preceded in death by her husband, James William Thompson, Jr.; mother, Christina Melvin; son, Darnell Watters, Sr.; and great-granddaughter, Autiyana Hester. Those left to cherish her memories include her daughters, Serena Hester of Chattanooga and Dawn Brown of Dickson, TN; God-daughter, Loretta Moore of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Shunta Scruggs, Dumonic (Radale) Davis, Tekelia Watters, Charles Watters, Darnell Watters, Jr., Cyan Watters, and Sarai Smith; great-grandchildren, Christian Geter, De’Asia Hester, Isaiah Hester, Tymetrius Coleman, Zireon Watters, and Destini Watters; a host of other relatives and friends. Patricia will lie-in-state on Friday, June 7, 2024, from 12:30-5:00 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel with Pastor Alexander Bullard, Sr. as the eulogist. Burial in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
