Palata Lewis' Obituary
Palata Nico Lewis, 49, of Chattanooga, passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2023, in a local hospital. She received her GED and went on to attend and graduate from Chattanooga State Community College. Palata was employed by Sevita Health as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She attended Westside Baptist Church. Palata was preceded in death by her parents, Leo Anthony and Debra Ann Lewis; grandparents, Amos and Katie Mae Naylor and Leotis Lewis; sister, Larinder “Kay-Kay” Lewis; uncle, Billy Jean McNealy; and niece, Nautika Unique Lewis. Survivors include her sons, Pajshely “PJ” Lewis, Xgabriel “Gabe” Lewis, and Isaiah “Zay” Lewis, Sr., all of Chattanooga; grandson, Isaiah Lewis, Jr.; sister, Zapouria Diane Lewis of Baton Rouge, LA; aunts Diane Naylor of Atlanta, GA and Dorothy Naylor of Chattanooga; nieces, ReKayelia McCorkle and Zalandria Gearing; great-nieces, Amara High and Amoura High; fiancé, James Massengill; lifelong friends, Raymond Stargin and Monte “Hunch” Brewer; a host of other relatives and friends. Palata will lie-in-state on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Westside Baptist Church. Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the church with Pastor Brian Allen as the eulogist.
