Ossie Ola Smith's Obituary
Ossie Ola Smith, 76, of Chattanooga, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at her residence. She was educated in the Chattanooga Public Schools and attended Howard High School. She was employed with Helig Meyers Furniture as a sales assistant. Ossie was a faithful member of Greater Friendship Primitive Baptist Church where she served on the Missionary Society. She was also a member of Shannel Social Club. She was preceded in death by her parents, Spencer and Juanita White, Sr.; brothers, Edward Jones, Aaron Jones, and Samuel Jones; sister, Barbara Ann Jones-Pullom. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Haywood Smith; son, Marvin (Alenisa) Smith; daughter, Tracye Ashford, both of Harrison, TN; grandchildren, Keyonna Ashford, Tianca Ashford, Sydney Smith, and Kenedy Smith; brother, Reverend Dr. Spencer White, Jr.; sister, Margaret Galloway, both of Las Vegas, NV; aunt, Ethel Mae Pope of Chattanooga; sisters-in-law, Dr. Annie V. White of Suffork, VA, Bessie Grady, and Bertha Gladden, both of Chattanooga; special cousin, William Stegall; dearest friends, Beverly Rowe and Dorneata Johnson; several nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Reverend Reginald Yates will serve as the eulogist.
