Nathaniel Strickland's Obituary
Nathaniel Strickland, 69, of Chattanooga, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2022, at his residence. He was born on August 5, 1953. He was a graduate of Howard High School class of 1971. He attended Chattanooga State Community College. Nathaniel was a member of Second Missionary Baptist Church where he participated in the Male Choir, Audio Department, and Co- chairman of Men’s Day. He retired from Dupont/KOCHS after many years of service. Nathaniel was preceded in death by his father, Willie Marvin Strickland; sister, Flora Lewis; father and mother-in-law, Ernest and Marion Johnson. Survivors include his wife, Leattrice Strickland; sons, Nathaniel C. Strickland and Darrell D. Strickland; grandchildren, Dorian Strickland, Jamie Strickland, Darryn Strickland, Chris Anthoni Strickland, and Craig Steward, Jr.; mother, Juanita Strickland; brothers, Anthony (Carolyn) Strickland, Kenneth Strickland, Herschel (Jacqueline) Strickland, and Travis Strickland; sister, Marcheryl Strickland-Leverette; brothers-in-law, Terrell (LaFreda) Johnson and Christopher A. Johnson; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives; special friends, Cleon Coleman, Sr., Gregory Hudson, Fredrick Akins, Jay Bell, Kenneth Johnson, Larry Taylor, and many other friends. Reverend Ronald Harris will officiate and Dr. Ernest Reid, Jr. will be the eulogist.
