Namon "Reco" Derring Jr.'s Obituary
Namon “Reco” Derring, Jr., 76, of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, May 10, 2021 at his residence. He attended Central High School and later became a veteran of the United States Army. He was former employee with Cutters Laboratory. Namon accepted Christ as his personal Savior in 1978 and was a member of Second Missionary Baptist Church where he served on the Deacon Board, Chairman of the Athletic Ministry and Pastor’s Appreciation Committee, and Bus Ministry. Reco was a basketball official for TSSAA Basketball Officer since 1978, Member of ASA Softball Companion, and Krystal Breakfast Group. He was named 1999 Man of the year at Second Missionary Baptist Church. He founded Derring Janitorial Services, LLC. He was preceded in death by his parents, Namon Derring, Sr., Mrs. Rosie and Henry Barnes, Jr.; and brother, Tony Derring. Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Sandra Derring; son, Namon Derring, III, all of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Namon Derring, IV and Noah Abigail Derring; siblings, Minister Sandra Jones, Marion (Annie) Turner, Carolyn Ocansey, Leroy (Rosa) Barnes, Debra (Michael) Goode, Rosa (Lewis) Stegall, Sr., Cynthia (Sammy) Billingslea, Jackie (Willie Mae) Derring, Cathy (Rev. Danny) Hill, Michael Derring, James Derring, and Carol (Jimmy) Lynch, all of Newman,GA; mother-in-law, Bernice Jackson; brother-in-law, Larry (Shirley) Nelson, all of Chattanooga sister-in-law, Gloria Derring of Newnan; childhood friend, Deacon James Powell of Newnan, GA; a host of nieces; nephews; great-nieces and nephews; great-great-nephews, other relatives and friends. Pastor Ernest Reid, Jr. will be the eulogist.
