Mykel Jermaine Anderson, 16, of Chattanooga, passed away Friday, April 11, 2025, in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was born May 22, 2008 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to Michael Anderson and Erica Yearby. He was being educated by the Chattanooga Public Schools and was attending Brainerd High School. He was affiliated with Silvercrest Baptist Church.
Among those who preceded Mykel in death include his mother, Erica Yearby Haddox; grandfather, Horace Calvin Yearby; great-great-grandmother, Vadell Talley; nephew, Darrell Jackson; great-aunts, Valarie Bush and Wanda Lay; great-grandmother, Mary Ruth Anderson; and friend, Curtis McClain, Jr.
Cherishing his memories include his son, Truu N’Gozi Patillo of Chattanooga, TN; father, Michael Anderson of Chattanooga, TN; grandparents, Karen Shoulders and Johneen Cuthbertson both of Chattanooga, TN; brothers, Vontel Haddox, Jonathan Cook, Michael Jackson, Mikhel Anderson, Michael Anderson II, and Dana Anderson all of Chattanooga, TN; sisters, Ariel Haddox, Christa Haddox, Cyrishala Haddox, Kenyetta Jackson, Deandra Jackson, Makayla Anderson, and La’Mya Spangler, all of Chattanooga, TN; uncle, Aloza “Lil Bra”; aunts, Andrea Meadows Anderson, Sheila Anderson Winston, Regina McWhorter, and Valarie Anderson, all of Chattanooga, TN; a host of other relatives and friends.
Mykel will lie-in-state on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 12 noon in the chapel with Pastor Randy Petersen as the Eulogist. Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
