Montez J Colvin's Obituary
Montez Colvin, 29, of Chattanooga, passed away Sunday, August 17, 2025, in a local hospital. He was a beloved son, grandson, father, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend. He was born in Chattanooga, TN on May 30, 1996, to Patrice Colvin and Mohandez Colvin, both of Chattanooga. Montez attended Tyner High School. He was blessed with a large and loving family. Montez was a devoted father. He was fun to be around, outgoing and the life of the party. His presence in our lives will be sorely missed.
Montez was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jimmy Colvin, Sr., Jacquiline Watkins, and Charles Nohen, Sr.
Survivors include the loves of his life, his daughters, Maycee and Melani Colvin; father, Mohandez Colvin, Sr.; mother, Patrice (Gregory Bumpass) Colvin; grandmothers, Terrie Colvin and Ernestine Jones; brothers, Lavale Colvin and Mohandez Colvin, Jr.; sisters, Keosha Colvin and Ugandra Colvin; uncles, Jimmy (Pearl) Colvin and Thomas Watkins, all of Chattanooga, and Charles Nolen, Jr., of Columbus, OH; aunts, Treshia Kirk, Yashica Watkins, Trenace Wilkins, and Nevisa Jones; godbrother/uncle/mentor, Steven Davis; beloved companion, Destinee Parker; a dear friend, Marquaila Hodge; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Montez will lie-in-state on Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 12:30-5:00 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. in the Chapel with Dr. Ternae Jordon as Eulogist. Burial in Highland Memorial Gardens.
