Minnie Mae Parker's Obituary
Minnie Mae Parker, 85, of Chattanooga, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2024, in a local hospital. She was born January 10, 1939, in Little Rock, Arkansas to Thomas and Joller Humphrey. She attended Howard High School and was an active member of Galilee Baptist Church. Minnie retired from Hamilton County Nursing Home after 30+ years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edmond Parker; son, Richard Davis; and sisters, Minnie L. Millsaps, Ruby Jackson, and Susie Humphrey, Survivors include her son, Winford (Gwen) Davis; sister, Hannah Kelley; brother, John Morris Humphrey; nieces, Wanda Millsaps, Wanda Faye (David) Lyle, Denese Deere, Angela (James) Westmoreland, and Tanza Freeman; nephews, Todd Smith, Lawarren Smith, Thomas Humphrey, Joe Humphrey, and Anthony Humphrey; daughters-in-law, Esterine Davis and Alice Chiles; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends. Minnie will lie-in-state on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Galilee Baptist Church. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 noon with Pastor Alonzo Noble as the eulogist. Burial in Chattanooga National Cemetery. Arrangements are by Taylor Funeral Home of Chattanooga, Inc.
