Minnie L. Millsaps' Obituary
Minnie Lucinda Humphrey Millsaps, 80, of Chattanooga, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2023, at her residence. She was a faithful and dedicated member of Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church under leadership of her late father-in-law Pastor Joe Q. Millsaps, then Ronald Tucker became Pastor, where she served in many ministries. She was a strong, loving, humble and dedicated woman to God and her family. Her ministry was to help others as God gave her direction. After 30 + years, she retired from Erlanger Health Systems. She had a passion for flowers and decorating tables for events. Minnie was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Alice Millsaps; husband, Joe Benny Millsaps; parents, Thomas Athran and Jollar Boykins Humphrey; siblings, Reginald Humphrey, Nathaniel Humphrey, James Humphrey, and Susie Lee Humphrey; and nephew, Richard Davis. She leaves to cherish her love and memories to her daughter, Wanda Lucinda Millsaps; grandson, Cedric Jowon Henderson; four great-grandsons, Kylan Henderson, Keylan Henderson, Camari Henderson and Josiah Henderson; brother, John Morris Humphrey; sisters, Minnie Mae Parker, Hannah Mary Kelley Humphrey, all of Chattanooga; nephews, Winford (Gwen) Davis, Thomas J. Humphrey, Anthony Humphrey, and Joe Humphrey, all of Chattanooga; great-niece and daughter, Tania Susie Humphrey; sisters-in-law, Pastor Brenda J. Millsaps and Mary Irene Millsaps, both of Chattanooga; loving daughter in Christ, Chandra “Kale” Smith; special friends, Elizabeth Daniels, Rae Ann (Tracy) Petty, Marilynn Davis, and Fannie Wright; neighborhood friends, Anita Parks and Cynthia Parks, both of Chattanooga; a host of nieces; nephews; great-nieces; great-nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Pastor Dexter Cummings will serve as the eulogist.
