Mildred Lynnette Harvey's Obituary
Mildred Lynnette Harvey, 89, formerly of Chattanooga, passed away Saturday, December 27, 2025, in a local healthcare facility in Rock Springs, Georgia. She was formerly employed by Moccasin Bend Mental Health Institute.
Mildred was a member of New United Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and played on The Mixed Church Bowling Team. She was a member of the Sophisticated Ladies of The Red Hat Society. She was named “Countess” and also served as the Treasurer.
Among those who preceded Mildred in death include her father, James B. Favors; mother, Katherine Favors; brother, James S. Favors; husband of her children, Richard J. Hickey; son, Malcolm Favors; and late husband, Philip Harvey.
Mildred is survived by her three daughters, Terry Hickey, Marva Vandunk, both of Chattanooga, and Glenda Hickey of Knoxville, TN; 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Minister Nancy Fitzpatrick of Chattanooga; several nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.
Mildred will lie-in-state on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. She will also lie-in-state at 2 p.m. at New United Baptist Church. Funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. with Dr. Jeffrey T. Wilson as the Eulogist. Burial will be Monday, January 12, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
