Officer Michael Lenton Favors' Obituary
Officer Michael L. Favors, 55, of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, December 30, 2019 at his residence. He was a 1982 graduate of Brainerd High School and attended Cleveland State Community College. Michael was a member of Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church. He was a Chattanooga Police Officer and had served since 1991 in the Public Housing, Neighborhood Policing, and Property Crimes units. Michael was a member of the Chattanooga Black Police Association. He was preceded in death by his parents, Winfred and Mary Favors; grandparents, Roxie and Charlie Williams, Mr. and Mrs. Lenton Favors. Survivors include daughters, Chiniqua (Jermaine) Williams and Precious Favors; granddaughter, Avah Jade Elizabeth Williams, all of Chattanooga; brothers, Chaplain Jimmie (Lisa) Sanders, Jr. of Murfreesboro, TN, Gregory (Roslynn) Sanders, Jeffery Favors, Patrick Favors, Fredrick Favors, and Cecil (Markella) Hampton, all of Chattanooga; sister, Eleanor Corbin of Chattanooga; uncles, Walter Williams of Atlanta, GA and Napoleon Williams of Chattanooga; aunts, Janie Gantt, Louise Blackwell, both of Chattanooga, and Mildred Jones of Atlanta; devoted niece, Chiniqua (Antonio) Babbs of Hinesville, GA, other nephews and niece, Torey (Miranda), Antwan, J.J. (Kari), April (Roeshad), Jimichael, David, and Bryson; a host of cousins; other relatives and friends. Pastor Anthony Williams will serve as the eulogist. Entombment will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
