Michael Oxtavis Buchanan, Sr.'s Obituary
Michael Oxtavis “Buck” Buchanan, Sr., 68, of Chattanooga, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2020 in a local hospital. He was a 1970 graduate of Riverside High School. He was a Taxi Driver for Mercury Cab. Michael was a member of Greater Faith Temple Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael O. Buchanan, Jr.; father, Johnson Buchanan; mother, Flora Pickett; brothers, Jerome Buchanan and Clifford Christion. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Mona Buchanan; daughters, Michelle Buchanan-Egbe, Tonya Hutchins, both of Chattanooga, and Porsche (Christopher) Torregano of Ooltewah, TN; grandchildren, Christian Buchanan, Mykayla Buchanan, Mylan Hutchins, Michael O. Buchanan III, and Amber Jackson; one great-grandchild on the way; brothers, Lonnie (Janice) Smith and Orlandis Montgomery, both of Chattanooga; sisters, Mary Taylor of Flintstone, GA and Patricia Pickett of Chattanooga; mother-in-law, Sally McMillian of South Pittsburg, TN; and a host of other relatives and friends. Pastor Michael Lacey will be the eulogist.
