Melica McKibbens, 61, transitioned from this earthly life into eternity on Saturday, February 21, 2026. She was born on January 4, 1965, in Rome, Georgia.
A devoted mother and cherished grandmother, she will always be remembered for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for her family. She had a special way of making everyone feel welcome, offering warmth, wisdom, and comfort to those around her. Her greatest joy in life was caring for her children and grandchildren, filling their lives with laughter, guidance, and unconditional love. Her legacy lives on in the family she nurtured, the kindness she shared, and the countless memories that will forever be held close in the hearts of those who loved her.
Melica leaves to cherish her memories her sons, Timothy McKibbens and Julius Nichols; daughter, Hadassah McKinney; her parents Curtis and Ruby Nichols; and 4 grandchildren.
Melica will lie-in-state on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 noon in the Chapel. Burial on Monday, March 9, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in Highland Memorial Gardens.
