Mary H. Wright's Obituary
Mary Helen Wright, 72, of Chattanooga, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2023, in the Hospice Care Center. She was born to the late Fannie Louise (Copper) Wright and Willie Wright, Jr. on September 18, 1950 in Fairfax, Alabama. Mary’s family moved to Buffalo, New York where she raised her two sons, Jeremy and Cameron Wright. Mary received Christ at an early age. After Mary children became adults Mary moved to Chattanooga to spend the rest of her life. Mary attended New Covenant Fellowship Church under the leadership of Rev. Bernie Miller. She worked in the nursery. She also enjoyed bible study and worship on Sundays. Mary enjoyed spending time with her best friend. Juanita. They enjoyed shopping, bowling, playing spades, working out in the YMCA, and eating. Mary’s favorite dish was seafood. Mary also liked to cook, dance, and listen to spiritual music and blues. Mary’s children always remembered her saying, “ Mama may have, Daddy may have, but blessed is the child that has their own.” Survivors include her sons, Jeremy and Cameron Wright; brother, Carlton Wright; nieces and nephews, Lakita, Donald, Herbert, Jennifer, Al, Jameeka, Aneglia, Clemons, Jamaal, and Jada; best friend, Juanita; and other relatives and friends; Mary will lie-in-state on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Bernie Miller will serve as the eulogist.
