Mary Arlene Martin's Obituary
Mary Arlene “Peggy” Martin, 80, of Chattanooga, passed away Saturday, September 25, 2021, at her residence. She graduated from Central High School. She was a member of Mt. Canaan Baptist Church and retired from Carestone Assisted Living after many years of service. Mary was preceded in death by her father, Elmer Beene; mother, Agnes L. Cooper; husband, Robert J. Martin; daughters, Mary Alice Martin and Shirley Martin. Survivors include her son, Timothy J. Martin; daughters, Janice (Dansby) Turner, Jr., Gwenda Kendall, and Doris (Victor) White, all of Chattanooga; 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jim (Corlis) Bumpas of Arlington, TX and Charles W. Bumpas of Milan, TN; sisters, Frances Clark of Paris, TN, Brendall (Harry) Cowan of St. Petersburg, FL, Gloria Bumpass Kendall, and Linda Bumpass Tharpe, both of Milan, TN; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Minister Jim Franklin Bumpas will serve as the eulogist.
