Mary Porch King's Obituary
Mary Porch King, 81, of Chattanooga, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2022, in the Soddy-Daisy Health Care Center. She was born September 7, 1940, in Dadeville, Alabama to Charity Porch. She was educated in the Alabama school system. Mary was a faithful member of Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church serving on the Mother Board and in the Senior Choir until her health began to fail. She was preceded in death by her mother, Charity Porch; husband, James King; daughter, Tracy Porch; son, Jason King; sisters, Lucille Thurman, Alma Murphy, Francis Ruffin, and Lurleen Harris; brothers, James Porch, Roosevelt “Dent” Porch, Joe Porch, and Jessie Porch; brother-in-law, Davie Wade. Survivors include her sons, Barry Porch and James (Tiffany) King; sister, Hennie Wade; brother-in-law, Sylvester Murphy; and a host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces, and nephews. Pastor Carlton Douglas will be the eulogist.
