Mary Elizabeth Jackson's Obituary
Mary Elizabeth Edwards Jackson, 68, of Chattanooga, born February 27, 1953 in Madison County, Alabama, departed this life on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She attended Riverside High School and retired October 2014 from Hardee’s as the Head Biscuit Maker. She accepted Jesus Christ at an early age at Orchard Knob Missionary Baptist Church and later she rededicated her life and joined Trinity Missionary Baptist Church. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Mitchell Edwards, Jr., Noah and Catherine McLemore, Sr.; brothers, Robert Edwards and Carl Edwards; uncles, Willie Rice, Jr., and Milton Edwards; aunts, Lucille Toney, Ida Mae Edwards, Octavia Robinson, Judy Rice, and Anniebelle Jones; nephew, Little John Cross, III. Survivors include a devoted friend and husband, John Jackson, Jr.; children, Stacy Edwards-Jackson, John Jackson, III, Michael (Jill) Summerow, Terrance (Tia) Jackson, all of Chattanooga, and Geiry Summerow of Kansas City, MO; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; siblings, Noah McLemore, Jr., Ethel McLemore all of Chattanooga; Barbara Edwards, Brenda Edwards, Irene Carter, Christine Cooper, Patricia (Kirk) Ellison, all of Atlanta, GA, and Jacqueline Edwards of Las Vegas, NV; mother-in-law, Opal Jackson; brothers and sisters-in-law, Linda Edwards, Connie (Junior) Rollins, Edward (Ernestine) Rollins, Donald (Kim) Rollins, Johnny (Robinteen) Rollins, Frankie Smartt, Minnie King, Patricia (Alexander) Spivey, all of Chattanooga, Cordia Stephens of Springfield, OH, Toyia Brown of Warrensville Height, OH; caregiver, Luella Reed; special friends, Linda Bailey, Rebecca Holloway, and Gwendolyn Hill; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Pastor Steve Underwood will serve as the eulogist.
