She was preceded in death by her parents, Felton Julius Clark, Sr. and Ocea Lee Clark; her daughter, Shaneka LaShun Storey; her brothers, David Stanley Clark, Roy Lee Clark, Napoleon Bonaparte Clark, Sr., and Felton Julius Clark, Jr.; and her sister, Rosa Mae Ryan. Mary was born on July 30, 1952, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She grew up in Dewberry, Georgia, and eventually settled back in Chattanooga. Baptized at an early age, Mary graduated from Rossville High School in 1970 and pursued her dreams in cosmetology. She gained her license and traveled nationally, perfecting her craft. Mary worked at both Olan Mills and TVA for over two decades before retiring from Convergys in May 2014. A lifelong learner, she obtained her associate’s degree at Chattanooga State and became certified in multiple areas. Mary was a devoted Samaritan, volunteering at multiple senior living facilities and regularly at Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences. Her church home and membership were with Orchard Knob Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling with her daughter, walking outdoors, and creating lots of laughter. She immensely loved her grandson, Jalen and eagerly anticipated her great-grand experiences with great-granddaughter, Ashanti.
