Martha Ann Montgomery's Obituary
Martha Ann Montgomery, 76, of Chattanooga, passed away Friday, November 1, 2024, at her residence. She was born November 26, 1947, in Chattanooga, Tennessee to George Lane, Sr. and Rosie McClenon Lane. Out of eight children, she was the youngest living sibling. Martha accepted Christ many years ago. She was a faithful church member all the way into her later years; even as her health was declining. She loved the Lord and loved His people. One of her favorite songs was ‘I Am on The Battlefield For My Lord’. Everyone who came in contact with Martha was just drawn to her sweet loving spirit. Among those who preceded Martha in death include her parents, George and Rosie Lane; sisters, Ora Lee Lane, Doris McClennon, Laura Mae Bussey, and Annie Ruth Flint; brothers, George Lane, Jr., Roy Lane, and Edward Price. Martha leaves to cherish her precious memories: her children, Antonio (Tina) Ivey, Willette Sexton, and Thomas (Sharma) Sexton; 12 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; a faithful great-niece, Brandisha Lane; her only living sibling, Liz Hester; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Martha will lie-in-state on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 12 noon in the chapel with Bishop A.Z. Valentin as the Eulogist. Burial in Highland Memorial Gardens.
