Marie Anthonette “Angel” Pickett, 66, formerly of Chattanooga, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at her Dalton, Georgia residence. She attended Long Beach High School in Long Beach, New York. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Pickett, Jr.; mother, Bernice Brooks Cuffee; father, Joe Brooks, Sr.; brother, Joe Brooks, Jr.; aunts, Shirley Smith and Martha Jones; nephew, Clifton Brooks; father and mother-in-law, William and Naomi Pickett, Sr. Survivors include her daughter, Shamar (Jermaine, Sr.) Hester of Dalton, GA; godsons, Eric Norwood and Mancil Brooks, both of Chattanooga; two grandchildren, Jermaine (Bethany) Hester, Jr. and Nyisha (Devin) Moore; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Anthony Brooks of Chattanooga and Barry Huff of Long Beach, NY; sister, Joeann (Tyrone) King of Chattanooga; in-laws, Donna (Steve) Cunningham, Sharon (Carol) Springs, Vincent (Stacy) Pickett, Billy Pickett, and Eddie (Terry) Pickett; sister-in-law, Wanda Brooks of Long Beach, NY; 10 nephews; 16 nieces; a host of great-nieces; great-nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.
