Margaret Marie “Ree” McCorkle, 74, of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, October 24, 2022, in a local hospital. She retired from Chattanooga Choo Choo after many years of service. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Cleveland and Evelina Battle Craighead, Sr.; brothers, Cleveland Craighead, Jr. and Willie Craighead; sister, Carolyn Taylor. Survivors include her sons, Richard McCorkle of Chicago, IL, Reginald McCorkle, and Michael McCorkle both of Chattanooga, TN; grandchildren, Rekayelia McCorkle, Antonio McCorkle, Gabriel McCorkle, Michael Laws Sheaira Derrick, LaMichael Derrick, and Daiquez Lewis; great-grandchildren, Keely Derrick, Mi’Khail Rollins, R’Ryaunna Derrick, R’Ryielle Derrick, Sa’mirr Derrick, A’mara High and Amoura High; sister, Annie Mae (John) Talley of Conyers, GA; special nephew, Isaiah Craighead of Chattanooga; nephews, Adrian Craighead, Patrick Johnson of Conyers, and James Taylor of Chattanooga; nieces, Arnita Craighead of Frisco, TX, Kimberly Coltrain of Snellville, GA, and Leslie Taylor of Chattanooga; a host of other relatives and friends.
