Mable Virginia Williams' Obituary
Mable “Mae Mae” Virginia Williams, 84, of Chattanooga, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2021 in a local healthcare facility. She attended J. L. Cook High School and was a 1953 graduate of Howard High School. She attended Tennesse State University. Mable was a member of Church of Jesus and was the Director of the Church of Jesus Daycare for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Williams; sons, George Newson, III and Thomas Newson. Survivors include her sons, Lebron Newson of Elizabethtown, KY, Mark Newson of Atlanta, GA, and David (Stephanie) Newson of Chattanooga; daughter, Deborah Thurman of Chattanooga; 26 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 41 great-great-grandchildren; godchildren, Angie Bond, Carloyn Lucas, both of Chattanooga, and Helena Benton of Atlanta; sister, Helen Ruth (Billy) Robinson of Chattanooga; special friends, Shirley Thomas, Elizabeth Billups, Mattie Folks, all of Chattanooga, and Evelyn Armstrong of Athens, TN; a host of other relatives and friends. Minister Mark Newson will be giving the words of comfort.
