To Lyonel's family:
I know my words cannot help ease the pain of loss you are feeling, but I nevertheless wanted to convey my sympathies to you.
I knew Lyonel from work at Volkswagen, where I worked with him closely. Over the past 3 years or so, I came to know him to be an honorable young man, who was loaded with potential. I saw him mature into a good man with a huge heart. I suspect he always has had a huge heart, based on the number of people I saw first hand that loved him. Lyonel had no shortage of friends, which is a testament to the kind of person he was. I am very fortunate and truly blessed to have gotten to know him and count him as a friend, if only for a short time.
His passing leaves a huge hole in many of our lives and he will be sorely missed. I will miss him and his ever smiling face and good nature.
