Louise Catherine Davis' Obituary
Louise Catherine Davis, 88, of Chattanooga, passed away Thursday, October 26, 2023, at her residence. She attended Howard High School. Louise was employed by Memorial Hospital for 17 years. She then relocated to New York City where she lived and worked for many years. She returned to Chattanooga to care for her sick mother. Louise confessed Christ at an early age at the Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Louise was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Fred Davis and Mrs. Annie B. Davis; stepfather, Oscar Haley; brothers, James (Fannie) Wesley, Lorenzo Davis, and William Andrew Davis; sister, Jessie B. Davis; niece, Sonida Nichols; very devoted aunt, Maria Tanner. She leaves to cherish her loving memories one daughter, Eloise Cooke of Chattanooga; grandchildren, George Cooke and Shawneeque D. Cooke; great-grandchildren, Aryanna Cooke, Isaiah Cooke, and Olivia Cooke; brother, Lewis W. (Urania) Davis, Sr. of Chattanooga; three nieces, Carol Griffin, Lisa Heard, both of Chattanooga, and Denise Davis of California; two nephews, Gerry Davis and Lewis Davis, Jr., both of Chattanooga; devoted cousin, Vashita T. Frazier and family of Adamsville, Alabama; a host of cousins; other relatives and friends. Louise will lie-in-state on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 12 noon in the chapel with Pastor Clifford Gordon as the eulogist. Burial on Monday, November 6, 2023, at 10 a.m. in Forest Hills Cemetery.
