Lossie Mae Middlebrooks' Obituary
Lossie Mae Middlebrooks, 82, of Chattanooga, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2021 in a local healthcare facility. She retired from Barger Elementary School as a teacher’s aide. She was a member of Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church and served on the Usher Board. Lossie was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mattie Lee Jefferson, Jr.; and grandparents, Aaron and Macy Hyter. Survivors include her daughters, Angela Middlebrooks, Iris Middlebrooks, Gail (Romond) Pace and Ernestine Middlebrooks; grandchildren, Terrence Middlebrooks, NaTasha (Shauntae) Benning and Terryl (Stacey) Hogg; great-grandchildren, MaKenzie Boston, Tysen Benning, and Elliyana Hogg; sister-in-law, Louise Tuggle; a host of nieces; nephews; great-nieces; great-nephews; cousins; great-cousins dear friends, Creola Hyter, Nellie Ruth Warren, Joyce Church and Hattie Green; other relatives and friends. The family of Lossie Mae Middlebrooks would like to acknowledge and thank Miss April Herkley for the care given to Lossie Mae prior to her move to NHC Nursing Home of Chattanooga. Thanks to special nieces that helped as caregivers, Sarah Lawson, Maxine Davis, and Barbara Bouie. Pastor Wesley Davis will serve as the eulogist.
