Lois Ann Rucker's Obituary
Lois Ann Rucker, 69, of Chattanooga, passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2023, in the Hospice Care Center. She was a 1972 graduate of Howard High School and then attended Chattanooga State. In 2009, Lois received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Phoenix. She was employed for over 20 years by Erlanger Medical Center as a Medical Records Coder where she retired but continued her career at Hamilton Health Care System until her passing. Lois was a member of Olivet Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her mother, Frankie Hines; father, James Davis; sisters, Katie Jordan and Norma Sturdivant. Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Willie James Rucker, Sr.; sons, Antonio (Shon) Hines of Chattanooga and Willie Rucker, Jr. of Atlanta, GA; daughters, Gendera Smith Malveaux and Belinda Rucker, both of Atlanta; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Dr. Emma (Min.Robert) Cooley of Chattanooga; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Lois will lie-in-state on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, from 12:30-5:00 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Thursday, January 4, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel. Burial in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
