Lizzie Ball's Obituary
Lizzie Maedella Lofton, age 92, was born to the late, “Jeff” Harrison and Nannie Sue Beasley Lofton on Wednesday, June 17, 1931, in Newnan, Georgia. She peacefully went to her eternal rest on Sunday February 4, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jeff Harrison and Nannie Sue Beasley; brothers, Harrison Lofton Jr, Worner Lofton, Leroy Lofton, and Rayfon Lofton; sisters, Louise Sims, Mary Hilt, and Marlene Gladden. Lizzie became a member of the Greater Nazarene Missionary Baptist Church at an early age and served the church community while her health allowed. She attended Howard High School in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She worked as a housekeeper for the Weatherly and Barker families for many years, retiring at the age of 76. She was an excellent cook and homemaker, and her doors were always open to anyone who needed to enter. She leaves to cherish her memories her son, Carlos Ball; daughters, Valerie Lattimore, and Patricia Ball; stepson, Kevin Ball; stepdaughter, Mary (Authur) Sims; sister, Alma Barnes; a host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She will lie-in-state on Thursday, February 15, 2024, from 12:30–5:00 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be on Friday, February 16, 2024, at 12 noon in the chapel with Minister Maurice Gilchrist as the eulogist. Burial in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
