Ms. Linda Faye Anthony - Watkins' Obituary
Linda Faye Anthony-Watkins, 76, of Chattanooga, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 3, 2025, in The Hospice Care Center. She was born on December 14, 1948, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was the cherished daughter of Ida Bell and Robert Anthony, Sr. Linda was educated in the Chattanooga Public Schools. She attended Riverside High School where she played basketball and graduated with the Class of 1967. Her pursuit of knowledge led her to Chattanooga City College, where she earned her associate degree. She loved playing cards, dancing, and entertaining family and friends.
Linda was a devoted member of St. James Baptist Church, where her faith and fellowship enriched the lives of those around her.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Robert and Ida Bell Anthony, Sr.; her sister, Gwendolyn Alicia Anthony-McReynolds; her brother, Robert Anthony Jr.; and her nephew, James Lebron McReynolds.
Linda was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience. Survivors include her sons, Anthony Jermaine Brown and Kelvin LaTrell Watkins, both of Chattanooga; daughter, Wyletta Deonne Watkins-McNeal of Chattanooga; four grandsons, Eric Horton, Sr., Thomas Ellis, IV, both of Chattanooga, Kayden Watkins of Charleston, SC, and Kingston Watkins of Chattanooga; three granddaughters, Ariel Poindexter, Keyonna Watkins, and Kelley Watkins, all of Chattanooga; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Elder Carolyn Hammonds and Mary K. Anthony-Brooks, both of Chattanooga; nieces, Karen Collins, Patrice McReynolds, and Iris Davis, all of Chattanooga; nephews, B.J. Finley of Atlanta, GA and Eric (Christi) McReynolds, Sr. of Canton, OH; her dear friends, Toddie Woods and Audrey Green; several other relatives and friends. Linda’s warmth, wisdom, and unwavering spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Linda will lie-in-state on Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 12:30-5:00 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. There will be no service.
