Linda Joyce Harris' Obituary
Linda Joyce Harris, 70, of Chattanooga, passed away Friday, August 4, 2023, at her residence. She attended Howard High School. She was a member of Greater Friendship Community Church where she was a member of the Women’s Ministry. Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Steven Harris; father, Burl Careathers; stepfather, Melvin White, Sr.; grandparents, Ruth Mae and Samuel Shelton; nephew, DeJuan Lee; and aunt, Glenda Stewart. Survivors include her sons, Derrick Shelton and Cedric Shelton, both of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Dedrick Shelton, Calandra Sherman (D’Auntae Vinson), Devontay Tipton, Renisha Shelton, Brittany Shelton, Brisha Shelton, Shayrrica Shelton, Derrica Shelton, KaDarius Scott, and Anondi Shelton; 14 great-grandchildren; mother, Syvella White; brother, Melvin White, Jr.; sisters, Vanessa White, all of Chattanooga and Toni Perry of Fayetteville, NC; uncle, Samuel Lee Shelton, Jr.; aunt, Alma Harris, both of Chattanooga; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 1, 2023, at 12 noon in the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Bishop Damien Wigfall as the eulogist.
