Leon Barnett Collier, Sr.'s Obituary
Leon Barnett Collier, Sr., 72, of Chattanooga, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2021 at his residence. He was retired from Chattem Drug Company, a faithful member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, where he served on the Deacon Board, Finance Committee, sang in the Choir and the Male Chorus. He also served in the U. S. Army. Leon was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Alice Collier; sons, LaFrederick Maurice and Deon Lonnell Collier; parents. Reuben and Gentry Collier; brothers, Harold, Lewis, and Albert Suttles, Leonard, Reuben and Rev. Freddie Collier; sister, Shirley Ann Lyons. His survivors are his son, Leon B. Collier Jr. of Hartsville, TN; devoted granddaughter, Shaquela (Donivan) Comena, of Chattanooga; 12 other grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Betty McGraw; a dear friend, Deborrah Carter; brothers-in-law, Arthur Knight, Reginald (Evelena) Knight, Edward Odom and James Knight, all of Chattanooga; sisters-in-law, Lorene Collier and Thelma Collier, of Chattanooga, Marilyn Chavis, of New York, N.Y., Jackie Knight, Barbara Douglas, Terry Williams, Annette (Ronnie) Truss, Sandra (Larry) Ransom and Juanita Dunnigan, all of Chattanooga; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
