Lelia Mae Smith's Obituary
Lelia Mae Smith, 89, of Chattanooga, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2022, in a local healthcare facility. She was a graduate of Kinterbish High School in Cuba, Alabama. Lelia was a member of New Vernon Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully in the church choir, finance secretary, bus driver, and Sunday School Teacher/Superintendent. Lelia was preceded in death by her father, Sanford (Inez) Jamison; mother, Mary Jane Altman; brothers, Leroy Jamison and Walter Banks ; sister, Mamie Lee Thomas; grandson, Terrance Patton, Sr. Survivors include her son, Grady Smith, Sr.; daughters, Beverly (Arthur) Patton, Erna Faye Smith, and Avis Smith; grandson, Marcus (Vera) Mills, Sr.; great-grandchildren, Terrance Patton, Jr., Jacob Harmon, Abagail Mills, Marcus Mills, Jr.; brother, Donald (Leonetta) Jamison; sister, Leola Hausley. Thanks to the staff at Life Care of Collegedale for caring for our mother, especially Keshia, Vera, Fenda, and her roommate Bernice. Elder Charles Elliott will serve as the eulogist.
