LaTanya Renell Townsend's Obituary
LaTanya Renell Townsend, 45, of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, September 29, 2025, in a local hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. She was born May 27, 1980 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. LaTanya was self-employed as a hair stylist.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Mary Townsend; grandfathers, Eddie Townsend and Jessie Henderson; aunt, Elaine Hunter; and uncle, Rickey Johnson.
Survivors include her mother, Ruby Lee Taylor; father, Laveris Townsend, Sr.; grandmother, Jearlean Henderson, all of Chattanooga; brothers, Frank (Laticia) Morgan, Laveris Townsend, Jr., both of Fayetteville, AR, and Terrell Townsend of Chattanooga; sister, Joyce M. Russell of TX; uncles, Lovell (Brenda) Johnson, Henry Johnson, and Roy Lee Townsend, all of Chattanooga; aunts, Dorothy Robinson of Chattanooga, Carolyn Diane (James) Stewart of TX, Linda Junior, Evangeline Townsend, both of Detroit, MI, and Vivian J. Townsend of Chattanooga; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends; special friend, Vickie Tipton.
LaTanya will lie-in-state on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 10 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. in the Chapel with Pastor Frankie Bates as the Eulogist.
