Larry Fuqua, Sr.'s Obituary
Larry Eugene Fuqua, Sr., 74, of Chattanooga, passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at his residence. He was a 1969 graduate of Riverside High School. Larry was a veteran of the United States Army and was formerly employed by Electric Power Board.
Larry was preceded in death by his father, Walter Maples, Jr.; mother, Ann Hargroves; grandparents, Leversia Smith and Eddie Smith; sister, Valerie Maples Roush; and brother, Anthony Maples.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Fuqua; sons, Larry E. Fuqua, Jr. of Chattanooga, Bo McCray (Erica Miller) of McDonough, GA, and Frank Craven of Chattanooga; 5 grandchildren, Kayla McCray of Atlanta, GA, Ta'Kira McCray of Sparta, GA, Brionna McCray of Atlanta, GA, Demarion (Mario) McCray of McDonough, GA, and Frankie Craven of Rockwell, TX; great- granddaughter, Kamani Hamilton of Atlanta, GA; brothers, Walter (Brenda) Maples, III, Gregory Maples, Carlos Crutcher, and Ronnie Jones, all of Chattanooga; three sisters-in-law, Deborah Harper, Sharon (Leonard) Smith, and Lisa (Chris) Puryear; one brother-in-law, Keith Phillips, all of Louisville, KY; special nephew, D'Von (Bird) Maples; special niece, Deetra Dawson, both Chattanooga; several other nieces; nephews; special cousins, George (Maria) Ricks and The Ricks family, Sandra and Aaron Elliott of Chattanooga, Lawrence Fuqua of Alabama; special friends, Roslyn Brown, Shirley Parker, Nicolette and Darryl Yarbrough, Janice and Bobbie Jones, Sylvia Long, Willie and Stella Springs, and with the class of 1969 Riverside High School.
Larry will lie-in-state on Saturday, November 22, 2025, from 1-5 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Burial will be Monday, November 24, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
