LaMel Jerome Harrison's Obituary
LaMel Jerome Harrison, 59, of Chattanooga, passed away Thursday, August 10, 2023, in a local hospital. He was a 1982 graduate of Brainerd High School. LaMel attended Tennessee State University. He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Harrison; and grandparents, Carl and Nellie Crawford and Bishop Henry L. Harrison and Rev. Georgia Harrison. Survivors include his wife, Tatia Harrison; sons, Deisman Harrison and LaNor Harrison; stepdaughters, Tiffanie Jackson and Kamesha Green; 9 grandchildren; mother, Laretta Harrison; sister, Katrina Caldwell; uncles, Alfred Harrison and Dr. Harold Crawford; aunts, Julietta Johnson, Linda Harrison, Brenda Harrison, Geneva Harrison, and Dr. Janet Harrison; mother-in-law, Gwendolyn Washington; father-in-law, Josephus (Ollie) Reed; caregiver/sister, Beverly “Star” Bailey; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. LaMel will lie-in-state on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Kenneth Scaife as the eulogist.
