Lacie Mae Davis' Obituary
Lacie Davis peacefully passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2026, in Chattanooga, TN. Born and raised in Chattanooga, Lacie was a woman whose kindness, faith, and loving spirit touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.
A proud graduate of Riverside High School Class of 1964, Lacie carried the values of compassion and hard work throughout her life. She dedicated many years of service to Jack’s Music Shop, where she was known for her warm smile, caring nature, and exceptional customer service. She never met a stranger and had a unique ability to make everyone feel welcomed and valued.
Lacie’s love extended far beyond her immediate family. She became a mother and grandmother figure not only to her own children and grandchildren, but also to their many friends, opening her heart and home to all. She was known for always having an encouraging word, thoughtful advice, or a comforting scripture to share. Her faith guided her life, and her gentle spirit left a lasting impact on everyone she encountered. To truly know Lacie was to love her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bishop James Davis Sr.; her parents, Daisy Wofford and Joe Wofford; her brother, Joseph Wofford; and her great-grandson, KiVunté Johnson.
She leaves to cherish her memories; her children, James (Amy) Davis Jr., Egalaco (Daryl) Ringer, Danny Stegall; grandchildren, Michaela (Kevin) Stone, Roderick Bradley, Jamie Davis, Kenyetta Davis, Diamonds Ringer, Courtney (Terrance) Eberhart, Tiffany Griffin, and Adam Davis III; 20 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sisters, Betty Wofford, Emma Wofford, and Edna Louise Wofford; brother, LC Wofford; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and dear friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
Lacie will lie-in-state on Monday, May 18, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 noon in the Chapel with Mr. James Davis, Jr. as the Eulogist.
