Kim Parks' Obituary
Kim Parks, 62, of Chattanooga, passed away Saturday, October 21, 2023, in the Hospice Care Center. She was a graduate of Chattanooga High School class of 1979. She also graduated from Chattanooga State in 1986 and continued her education at UTC for her BSN and MSN with certification as a Nurse Practitioner in September of 2010. Kim was an Emergency Department Nurse for twenty-four years with her career beginning at Erlanger’s Emergency Department. She worked at Parkridge and Memorial in the Emergency Department as well which included duties as the Clinical Coordinator at Parkridge’s Emergency Department. Kim eventually decided to leave and work as a travel nurse. She worked at Stanford’s Emergency Department in Palo Alto, California and Mercy Scripps in San Diego, California. Kim had been practicing as a Nurse Practitioner for the past 13 years at Minuteclinic, from where she retired. Kim was glad that she chose her career path because she enjoyed taking care of her patients and gave exceptional care to each one. Above all, it was a job she loved. Kim was preceded in death by her parents, Ronnie and Brenda Davis; grandparents, Willie Mae Eberhardt, Lee Royal King, and Irene Freeman; great-grandmother, Lottie McCoy; uncles, Anthony Eberhardt and Eric Eberhardt. Kim leaves to cherish her unforgettable memories with her devoted husband, Victor Parks; sons, David R. Garth, III and Victor “Torrey” Parks of Chattanooga; daughters, Victoria Parks, of Chattanooga and Joy Parks of Nashville, TN; brother, Marqual Hudgins, of Chattanooga; sisters, Tasha Sligh and Venus McCoy of Charlotte, NC, and Carmen Davis of Chattanooga; devoted sister, Antoinette Sales; mother-in-law, Sandra McIntosh of Chattanooga; sisters-in-law, Angela McClendon, of Atlanta, GA, Pamela McIntosh, and Paula R. Nance (Oscar), all of Chattanooga; brother-in-law, Patrick McIntosh, of Chattanooga; special nieces and nephews, Que Brown, Sheena Mathews, David and Chardae Thompson, Sharkella Joynes, Grady Mathews, and special great-niece, Aniyah Mathews; twelve grandchildren; devoted and supportive aunts, Jean “Pinky” Savage, Vickie Talley and Terri Eberhardt, all of Chattanooga, Peggy Freeman of Princeton, NJ., Goldie F. Wright of Chattanooga; uncles, Larry (Gail) White of Los Angeles, CA, Steven “Skipper” (Marlon) Eberhardt of Chattanooga, Donald (Joan) Freeman of Trenton, NJ, and Charlie (Rita) Freeman of Chattanooga; devoted special friends, Kathy Taylor, Vickie (Billy) Simmons, Connie (Thomas) Rooks, Sandra Wills, Patricia Robinson, Pamela Blake, Jeff Johnson, and Leslie Bauer; and a host of special nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, and extended families. Special thanks to Dr. Brooke Daniel at Tennessee Oncology for all the years of excellent care, Dr. William Todd Cockerham, Dr. Marcus Wagner, Dr. Charles Crump, and Ginger Mullins, PA. Also special thanks to all the nursing staff at Tennessee Oncology who were also instrumental in the excellent care provided. Kim will lie-in-state on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at 9 a.m. at Olivet Baptist Church. Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at Olivet with Pastor Ron B. Cook, Sr. officiating and Bishop Kevin Adams, Sr. as the eulogist. Burial in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
