Kevin De'Mond Watson's Obituary
Kevin De’Mond Watson, 42, departed this life on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at his Nashville, Tennessee residence. He was born on November 9, 1982, to Wanda Renee Gordon and Gregory Lebron Watson in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Kevin began his education in the Chattanooga Public School system but graduated from Cookeville High School in Cookeville, Tennessee, where they moved. He was a standout football player in Cookeville and was named to the Tennessee All State Football team. Kevin later attended Middle Tennessee State University for two years. He joined Antioch Primitive Baptist Church at an early age, where he sang in the choir and ushered. He was employed by Nissan Corporation for over 10 years and was a Forklift Operator Supervisor. Kevin was a very cheerful and friendly individual who was dearly loved by his family and friends. He really respected his brother and valued his opinion. Likewise, he loved his children and mother. His favorite sport was football and his favorite teams were the University of Miami and the New York Buffalo Bills. He was preceded in death by his father, Gregory Lebron Watson; grandmothers, Elizabeth Ann Gordon and Betty J. O’Neal; grandfather, Richard Newsom and Larry Watson, Sr. He leaves to cherish his memories are his children, McKinna Harvin of Nashville, TN, Jacqueline Brice of Charleston, TN, Kyra Harvin of Gainesboro, TN, Kayona Watson of Chattanooga, Ibrahim Omari Taylor, Iverson Douglas Hancock, Josiah Watson all of Nashville, TN; grandchild, Laris Jayne Harvin of Gainesboro, TN; mother, Wanda Reneẻ Gordon of Chattanooga; brother, Dedrick Lebron Watson of Mt. Juliet, TN; sisters, Shasta (Kareem) Hutchinson of Portsmouth, VA and Shana Jones Gill of Newport News, VA; niece, Taylor Watson; nephew, Nikolas Watson both of Mt. Juliet, TN; uncles, Michael (Lynda) Cottoms of Hyattsville, MD and Larry (Sharron) Watson of Chattanooga; aunts, Pamela McClure and Diane Watson both of Chattanooga, TN; a host of other relatives and friends. He will lie-in-state on Monday, March 24, 2025, at 12:30 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. The family will be present from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. Funeral service will be on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at 12 noon at Taylor Funeral Home chapel with Pastor James Leslie as the eulogist. Burial in Forest Hills Cemetery.
