KenShunda Anita Bostic's Obituary
KenShunda “Shunda” Anita Bostic, 44, formerly of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, February 2, 2026, in a Shreveport, Louisiana hospital after fighting a long battle with a kidney disease. She was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on December 3, 1981, to Bonita Hardaway-Terry and Kenneth L. Bostic.
KenShunda lived her formative years in Chattanooga, and moved around the country with her military parents until she became an adult and settled in Shreveport, Louisiana. She graduated from Sale Creek High School in 2000 where she was a cheerleader, along with playing on the basketball and volleyball teams.
KenShunda lived her life with a warmth that drew people in. Known for her outgoing spirit and her natural ability to make anyone feel welcome, she was blessed with a spark that made every room brighter. She loved people deeply and loved to celebrate life, to dance, to party, and to surround herself with good company. Her joy was contagious, her presence unforgettable, and her ability to turn ordinary moments into celebrations was one of her greatest gifts.
She spent her career as a bartender, a role that fit her perfectly. KenShunda had a gift for listening, laughing, and bringing people together — whether she was mixing a drink, sharing a story, or lifting someone’s spirits after a long day. Her bar wasn’t just a workplace; it was a place where friendships were made, memories were created, and her personality shined.
She will be remembered for her boldness, her kindness, her laughter, and the way she made everyone feel like they belonged. Though her time here was far too short, the impact she made — through love, laughter, and connection — will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
KenShunda accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. Before her passing she rededicated her life to our Father and focused on enriching her relationship with Him.
She was preceded in death by father, Kenneth L. Bostic; grandmother, Margaret “Lucy” Bostic, and great-grandmother, Vennie Mae Jones.
She is survived by her mother, Bonita (James E., Jr.) Terry; brothers, Terrance Bostic, Marcus Gladden, and Kevin (Sara) Jones; grandmothers, Bobbie N. Matthews and Mary F. Taylor; and many other relatives and friends.
KenShunda will lie-in-state on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel with Elder Ricky V. Hardaway as the Officiant and Elder J. Wesley Hardaway, Sr. as the Eulogist.
