Katie Mae Jarrett's Obituary
Katie Mae Jarrett, 79, of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, November 15, 2021, in a local healthcare facility. She was a 1959 graduate of Howard High School and a 1964 graduate of Knoxville College. She also graduated from Chattanooga State. Katie was a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority. She was a member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by parents, John Hodge, and Leola Chattam; brother, Elvin Hodge; nephew, Jean Hodge; aunt, Katie Dell Gay; uncle, Reverend Willie E. Gay; and cousin, Deborah Gay Chukka. Survivors include her husband, Frank Jarrett; stepson, Jamal Jarrett; stepdaughters, Johanna Jarrett, Sharon Jarrett, Winona Jarrett, and Cordelia Jarrett, all of Chattanooga; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Pastor Melvin Tibbs, Sr. will serve as the eulogist.
