Kareem Abdul Shabazz, 67, of Chattanooga, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at his residence. He retired from Sphere One. He was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn Knox; father, Henry Davis; grandmother, Estelle Knox; and brother, Ronald Knox. Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Martha Shabazz; daughter, Tarsha Caperton and Laiya Davis (Brian) Young, both of Chattanooga; stepchildren, Sonita Gray and Joseph Gray; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Jerry Shropshire of Cleveland, TN, Michael Knox of Chattanooga, Jeffrey Knox of Chicago, IL, Gregory (Melissa) Shropshire of Kentucky, Rodney Knox, Tracy Knox, both of Chattanooga, and Anthony Knox of Pittsburgh, PA; sisters, Wanda J. (Douglas) Spencer of Pittsburgh, PA, Cynthia Graham, and Debra Shropshire-Harkness, both of Chattanooga; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Kevin Muhammed will serve as the eulogist.
