Julian Bonds Sr.'s Obituary
Julian Keenan Curtis Bonds, Sr. was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on January 6, 1977, and departed this life on Thursday, November 24, 2022. Julian attended Chattanooga City High School. For nineteen years he was employed by Enersys/Hawker PowerSource as a production supervisor and excelled as a most valued employee. A faithful member of the Joseph Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church, Julian served as a dependable and always concerned member to the Trustee Board. Julian was a loving husband and a tremendous dad. His family constantly benefitted from his ever-present kindness, care, protection, and encouragement. He absolutely loved family and possessed a wonderful servant’s heart. Any time anyone needed a smile, a laugh or just an uplifting word, Julian would always be the first to offer those things to them. He never seemed to be without a joke, or a gesture or just a funny look that broke the ice causing everyone to feel relaxed and comfortable. He seemed to personalize the Proverb that says, “laughter does good just like medicine.” Julian was preceded in death by his mother, Angela Washington; father, Alvin Bonds; grandparents, Alton and Catherine Washington, and James and Carrie Bonds. Those remaining to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 23 years, Lynnitra Bonds; son, Julian Bonds II; daughters, Sierra Bonds and Angela Bonds; grandsons, Demaryon and Zhaire Griffin; brother, Alonzo Goodwin; mother-in-law, Frances Hudgins; father-in-law, Harlin (Lolita) Bryson Sr.; brothers-in-law, Keith (Leanne) Hudgins, Harlin (Tendi) Bryson II, and Jared Bryson; and several nieces; nephews; cousins; and other relatives and friends. We are all comforted in that his life exemplifies the reality that it was his Lord Jesus Christ, who was living from within him all the time. And as II Corinthians 5:8 confirms, “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord”. There is no death the stars go down to rise upon some other shore and there in heavens bright jeweled crown they will shine forever more. Reverend Judge John W. McClarty is the officiant and Reverend Dr. Charles W. Sanderfur is the eulogist.
