Juanita Walker's Obituary
Juanita Walker, 70, of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, August 19, 2024, at her residence. She was a 1973 graduate of Ft. Payne High School. She furthered her education at Bryant and Stratton College in Buffalo, NY and received her associate’s degree. Juanita was a member of New Covenant Fellowship Church where she was a Nursery Attendant. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred LeRoy Walker; father, Raymond Moore; mother, Lorene McElrath; and brother, Reginald McElrath. Survivors include her sons, Al (Jamika) Walker of Chattanooga, Dr. Charles T. Walker of Austin, TX, and Alfred L. (Leah) Walker, III of Chattanooga; daughter, Jennifer Walker of Buffalo, NY; 7 grandchildren, Angelia (Malcom) Clemons, Jamaal Walker, Jada Walker, Isaiah Foster, Israel Walker, Shanovia Walker, and Zaire Walker; 1 great-grandchild, Amayah “Sugar Plum” Clemons; brother, Bryan McElrath of Ft. Payne, AL; sisters, Margaret Glass, Elizabeth (James) Bougit, both of Ft. Payne, AL, Sharon (Shaik) Ahmed of Lithonia, GA, and Pauline Wells of Fairburn, GA; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Juanita will lie-in-state on Friday, August 23, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at New Covenant Fellowship Church. Funeral will follow at 12 noon with Pastor Bernie Miller as the eulogist. Burial in Chattanooga National Cemetery. Arrangements are by Taylor Funeral Home of Chattanooga, Inc.
