Joyce Marie Garner Hall's Obituary
Joyce Garner-Hall, 69, of Chattanooga, passed away Friday, December 22, 2023, in a local hospital. She was born May 24, 1954, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Joyce graduated from Riverside High School and furthered her education, graduating from McKenzie College. She was the proud owner of Kiddie Kare Daycare Center for over 30 years. Joyce was very active in the community. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ollie and Mattie Bell Ford and Johnny and Fannie Garner; fathers, Leroy Garner and Chester Q. Westfield; niece, Monica White; brother, Albert Westfield; nephew, Terrance Westfield; and granddaughter, Gelissa Toney. Survivors include her children, Gary Eugene (Lisa) Toney, Sr., Monique Sharlene Garner, and Anthony Jermaine (Tatum) Garner, Sr.; grandchildren, Clarissa Garner, Nicolas (Haylie) Harrison, Genisha Toney, Gary Toney, Jr., Khaleid Williams, Anthony Garner, Jr., Sharmayne Garner, Shanice Garner, Jeremiah Garner, and DeShayla Steele; mother, Daisy Pearl Westfield; siblings, Cleatus (Judy) Garner, Marvin Garner, Blondell Garner Clark, Tyrone Garner, Timothy Westfield, and Patricia (Kenny) Daniel; aunts, Louise (James) Grayson, Katherine Howie, Edna Tibbs, Catherine Smith, and Mertle Garner Jolley; uncles, Joe Garner and Lorenzo Garner; a host of great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives; long term friends and business partners, Terri Rivers, Andre Willis, and Jennifer Brooks; and other friends. Joyce will lie-in-state on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Billy Ryan as the eulogist.
