Joyce Brown's Obituary
Joyce “JB” Ann Orr Brown, 67, of Chattanooga, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2024, in a local healthcare facility. She was born June 11, 1956 and was a long-time resident of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Joyce Brown, fondly known as “JB”, was born to Ella P. Goldston Orr. She was a free spirit who loved to have fun; loved poetry, music, and her family. Joyce was of the Baptist faith and a member of Piney Woods Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Jerome Brown, son, Royce Allen Brown; mother and father; brothers, Melvin, Ellis, Nathan, and Clenon Orr; sisters, Dorothy Wigfall, Wanda Orr, and Luella “Tina” Orr; nieces, Camisha Orr and Sherry Houser. Joyce leaves to mourn her two sons, Robert F. Brown, Sr. and Jason Hines; brother, Larry (Yvonne) Orr; sisters, Glenda Burton and Mildred Louise (Lawrence) Sanders; grandchildren, Robert Brown, Jr., Jashun Hines, Senitra Luckett (Utah), Mesha Orr, and Royce Brown, Jr.; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Joyce will lie-in-state on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 12 noon in the chapel. Burial in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
